We don’t get to see them a whole bunch anymore. Sammy: Yeah we’re hungry. Being peers with a lot of bands that you’ve grown up idolising feels like a dream but they are really great and supportive so far. We’re about six shows into our first ever US tour now and we’ve been blown away by the reactions so far. How has this been for you and has it built momentum for the new release? I have a Jack Russell called Lily. I’m not sure, we haven’t spoken about it or anything but we could do that would be cool. Hailing from Liverpool, the band, made up of Sammy Clifford on vocals, Alex Tobijanski on bass, and Kieren Alder and Dan…. It’s pretty surreal out here but there’s like 11 weeks to go, so ask me then. It’s not the end of the world, at the time you think it’s the end of the world and you’re not going to get past it, but it’s not is it? And, then the girl came up to me in Munich and said, “i got this tattooed on me”. Seb put his heart into it as much as we did and it really paid off. That was my personal one. We never heard the end of it and now every time we play people just shout, “break stuff!”…It’s always good, we bring it out at headliners every now and again. There’s always people who hate on it and stuff, but we’ve never really bought into that too much. You’ve teamed up with Seb Barlow again to produce this new record. For me it was ‘Sticks And Stones’, New Found Glory. They sound a lot bigger and more like proper songs. ‎WSTR had a swift rise as part of the burgeoning U.K. pop-punk scene that saw them signed to independent American label No Sleep Records before they'd even played their first show. There’s been an explosion in the number of new pop punk bands emerging in the UK, yourselves included. It really has seemed to connect with people and it feels like one big family right now. I have one of our band, i have the first EP title screwed on my wrist. WSTR will be getting The Avalanche Stage Hosted By Kerrang! It’s been a busy year for Liverpool pop punk’s WSTR. I usually come up with most things on my voice notes. What was the writing and recording process like for the record? There’s also the songs about the girl that I always seem to write about. The whole weekend was a great vibe. We caught up with guitarist Sammy Clifford to get the skinny on the band’s plans for #DL2018 and if there’s any chance of a collab with their mates Neck Deep. It feels pretty crazy to be so far away in what seems like the middle of nowhere and have kids been waiting to sing the words back at you.
