But they have assortment of breads, fruits, juices, some teas, coffee. Not there long but staff were friendly & welcoming. It's not terrible, just disappointing because it should be so much better. Expanding beyond just classic pub favourites, we have incorporated a tapas selection to our menu- with the strong belief that food is about bringing people together, sharing conversation and making memories. With unobstructed views of the stunning Belmont Bay and a modern Australian style menu, the Gunyah Hotel is known as one of the best Lake Macquarie Restaurants. This is the restaurant inside Paperbark Camp, it is open to everyone but am guessing most people are guests of the camp. The bar features decorative feature lighting and mahogany wood, a large open space and an alfresco style verandah that boasts stunning water views. Had the daily special and a steak sandwich, amazing value for money, will certainly be back. A porter, an IPA or a brown ale. We stayed 2 nights and had breakfast and dinner both times. Sink back into your safari chair with a passable coffee - a little on the weak side in a latte - or a well-balanced carrot, apple and ginger juice, and listen to the birdcalls. Also included in the thirty-buck price, each diner can also select a hot breakfast. Open from 10am daily, you’ll always find our bar full with locals, a buzzing young crowd on Friday, Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons as people kick back to a cold beer to finish the weekend off right.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The accommodation provides evening entertainment and an ATM. Feeling a bit peckish? Had a few beers and bottle of wine with meal which was as good as it gets the chicken and garlic puree with bacon wrap was...fantastic but dessert beat everything lemon marange greatMore, There's something you should know about Newcastle. I had hamburger and it was OK. My friend had chicken wings and if you go Tuesday night, they are great value for 10 bucks.

The bar is even worse and has evolved very little from the 1950's. Enjoy a selection of boutique craft beers or classic cocktails on the verandah, sit back and relax with the lake breeze. The dinner is amazing, it is set menu but it didn't matter what was on the menu as every dish was delicious. One morning, the fish in the special was just too much..My only only complaint was that on my last morning, the young blond chick helped out someone else when I arrived a long time ago and she knew and she had nothing to do.Of course she helps out the white guy, but not the Asian mixed white girl.. maybe it wasn't a race thing, but if someone got there first: wouldn't you help that person unless they didn't need anything..Aside from that: no other complaints.Dinner: Monday and Thursday (same menu), Tuesday and Friday (same menu), Wednesday and Saturday (same menu), Sunday: Paella night. Over the years it tried to gentrify and did so until it reached a level where average Belmontine came to see the Gunyah as a fine dining experience.

Highly recommend. We dined on maple salmon, pork spare ribs, seafood fettuccini and and eggplant dish. Why not pop in and enjoy a light snack, locally brewed beer or daily cocktail amongst the gumtrees? You can dine inside, or get even more acquainted with the forest on the wide veranda.Breakfast starts with a Continental buffet - the highlight of which is the house-blend of gluten-free muesli. Tasty, Mexican-style burger with home-made...black bean patty, guacamole & salsa. With a plate of comb honey catching your eye, it's hard to resist adding a drizzle of sweetness - though a muesli with this much variety doesn't really need any accentuation.Get stuck into the jams with a selection of breads, bested by fruit toast - though it's no match for the amazing Scottish malt loaf at local standout, Huskisson Bakery Café - or play it safe on space with a selection of fresh fruit and yoghurt. A local favourite pub and restaurant in Lake Macquarie with a modern Australian a la carte menu and a premier function space boasting breathtaking lake views. Delicious but unremarkable. With overnight stays in the king deluxe safari tents running over the six hundred dollar mark; Paperbark Camp takes glamping (glamorous camping) to a whole new level. Typically Newcastle and totally Belmont. Vege burger, chips and side of gravy for both of us.
